Tell us what you think about the possibility of taking courses online. What are the trade-offs between this approach to education and an experience complete with classrooms and in-person interactions? What are the benefits and drawbacks? Have you ever taken an online course or used an instructional video like those from Vi Hart or Khan Academy? If so, what did you think? Can you see video and online instruction replacing traditional classes? Do you think it is the wave of the future?

     The possibility of taking courses online can be very rare in my case. sitting at a computer learning about a major instead of learning in class. Do you learn more in class or online? i don't think you can learn that much online about major subjects online. The reason for this being is how much can u actually learn online more then in class, where can you go for question? what about more information ?. In person interaction is the way to go. Because you have that person that knows everything they suppose to know right there in front of you , can actually be a reliability source.

 The drawbacks for online education can be you wont get the job that you wont or work were you wanna work. There may be thing that the online didn't teach you if you was in, in person interaction. having a learning experience is way better then something you just learn online or haven't did for example or practice. The benefits is you probably got what you want , maybe get you degree in the education you took you online classes from. but again who would want someone working for them that only took online classes.
   
I cannot see video and online instruction replacing traditional class because that just making it easier for our generation. And it not fare to those adults that actually went to college and have a degree for any type of course to be sitting around letting a computer teach students. if that's the case mind as well college and university shouldn't be available. People might not agree with me but my opinion is traditional class is the way to go,but also i never took online courses so i wouldn't know. Online instruction is not the wave of the future to me its booty.  

How much do you think we are “attached” to our technology gadgets…?!

I think we attached to our technology gadgets more then we think. by everything we doing , or learning about we get more and more attached.   

Do you think you should Google your significant other? What would you do if you found out some negative information? Why?

In my case it really don't matter if you Google your significant other because that yours choice. but if you want to find out who this person is by looking them up to see if you can find something. then that a different story. while looking up information of my significant other and i happen to come across a information that i don't like. i will ask the person about it making sure its the right information.

What other aspects of your life do you think iPads or similar devices will influence? Why?

technology its self going to take over our life style or maybe the world. sooner or later ipad, & other device can do a lot of stuff in the future. they already starting using smartphone for you car and a lot more. i wonder what they would do next. these stuff can influence everyone not just me, learning new stuff all the time can reflect on what you do. 

How are animations and a transitions different and the same in Keynote?

they are different because each of them do other thing that make the project in keynote or whatever you doing make it look cool. but at the same time it can be the same because it each can do the same stuff but in a different way most of the time.

Do you think all the Googling people do is affecting our memories in a negative or positive way? Why?

I don't think all the goggling we do can affect our memories in a negative way. because as we read and learn something new that memory that we learn stay there and we can look back at it and remember. there a lot of stuff you can Google. 

Which Is More Important: Talent or Hard Work?

I think, there are both important me to. with talent you still have to be a hard worker to achieve what you want.  but to other people might think hard work because not everybody have good luck like other people. and sometime you have to work hard to be what you want.  

How do animated images and text help the viewer (learner) to understand your presentation?

Animated images and text  help viewer a lot . because it draw the readers attention to watch the presentation given. with images moving and have a lot great stuff you can understand the the person are trying to say or get across.

You wouldn’t want someone stealing your hard work, intentionally or even unintentionally, would you? Of course not. Why?

No, i wouldn't not want no one to steal my work because i work really hard for me to have it or have it perfectly organize the way i do.

What is the one technology or technology gadget that you are thankful for? Why? Include an image of your gadget?

The technology gadget that I'm thankful for is my laptop, i do everything on my laptop my life is on there. it make my life a little bit easier for my convinces. i appreciate that laptop so much and I'm very grateful that i have it.

Why do you think cellphones are banned in most schools? What consequence does this have for students?

Cell phone are banned in most school because children don't know how to act once hey have a cellphone in there hand. they get distract from cell phone and don't wanna do nothing in class , not paying attention cause them there learning for that day. these consequence the student have is not learning, distraction, they get caught up in the text-in, web searching & other stuff

Cell Phones at School: Should They Be Allowed?

cell phone at school should be allowed but for the right reason only. at the same time some stuff on the cell phone should be not prohibit while in school property and school hours. but we the student do need our cell phone in case of a emergency. 

What is cellphone addiction? How can it be prevented?

A cellphone addiction is when a person live on there cellphone every minute of the day they cant do nothing without there phone. that's person cant go a day with using there phone. cellphone addiction can be prevent by, making your phone breath have some air. but also only use your phone when its need or put t away if it unnecessary to have it out or using it at that moment.   

Do you have personal goals you’ve been working for a long time to accomplish? What are they? How do you stay motivated?

My personal goals is to get to college do what i need to do in all my class. have a perfect grade no lower then a c. i always make sure i have everything i need to apply when the times is right. i stay motivated by staying focus stay on point not letting nothing distract me. 

How does the light table view in Keynote or the Slide Sorter View in PowerPoint help you to organize your slides?

its help because you can put your slides were you want them. and arrange them in different orders. plus it show all the slides you have and what on them to edit or anything.

How are the slides on PowerPoint or Keynote similar index cards? Describe how you will use PowerPoint or Keynote to take notes for your project.

PowerPoint & keynote are similar  to index card are because both you take note for something, just writing any little details you know. but with power point & keynote or for note on project were we research stuff on the internet and other stuff.

Dear cell phone do you know you are my world, the way you sing for me when I turn you on.  The way you light up with my picture when I touch you.  So beautiful with your red case on, with such a beautiful camera that’s just can’t erase. My life just wouldn’t be the same without you, your there when I’m stress down or not in the mood. The way you just send call to my voice-mail. When I look at you I get hypnotize.

Only if you know my love for you, just small and slim I can just put you anywhere and you fit. You help me for so many things in my life. Like the weather so I wont be cold, the alarm clock to wake me up for school. This is why I haven’t replaced you as yet just too much in love with you right know. The way you sound when I’m on the phone. You truly make my world go round. I can’t remember one bad time that we have had together.     

You keep me posted on thing I need to know, you never let me down yet. From the time you came in my life you been working right. Never freeze or shut down when I’m in the middle of something. All those nice app I have that never let me get bored, always have something to do. You just always they’re when I need you. This is the reason for my love letter you are the best.

 

What suggestions do you have to improve the Uniform/Dress Code at East Orange Campus High School?

My opinion on our school dress code is positivity because i really think it was a great idea to have school uniform. because it took a lot of stress of some student and my self , when it come to dressing in the morning. not knowing what we should where. plus certain kids only come to school to show off what they got an what they don't have. and that not nice because there are a lot of parents that don't have it for there kids that much. whit uniform the school look more nice and appropriate with girl/boy dressing more proper and looking they are going to school. this give more adults to identify what school we go to and know that we are student.  

mandatory school uniform is necessary and should be in mostly all school. for that fact because more student will be identify as school student.  cause mostly without school uniform you wont know who goes to school from who don't. there are a lot of student that mature faster then other student , which they don't look like there school children when they are dress regularly everyday. plus it help gang from forming in school also Help students resist peer pressure to buy trendy clothes. sometime i think it very unnecessary because a lot of more money spent for uniform. 

honestly i don't think student are reacting properly to mandatory school uniform because you try to spice up ya uniform and not trying to look the same as everyone else. everyone have a different personality which we all try to show off. and once the school notice that and try to band certain stuff we can wear if thy see everyone start wearing the certain thing. mandatory school uniform just should have khaki or something but if we want to add stuff to it i think we the student should, cause at the end of the day we still gonna be in there school uniform.   

How is a smartphone different than a cell phone, and what makes it so smart?

A smart phone is smart because its way better then a cell phone , it can do way more stuff & have better feature plus you can have app that u can customize and download to your phone, unlike the regular old cell phone that certain people have. smart phone can access the internet way faster & more complex then a cell phone.

How will you use the Samsung Galaxy Tab™ be used to improve your education? Will tablets enhance learning or be more of a distraction?

I think galaxy tab will improve education a little bit , because it cant help a lot with our school work. with all the apps they have that are related to school we will be able to do our work. that are necessary for class. improve a lot of thing, because we have so many option of stuff to get and do research . so there for everything is reliable to you right then and there. 

the galaxy can also cause distraction to some student, because there gonna find something better to do if they don't wanna do the work. because they see this big tablet in front of them with a lot of stuff you can do , by playing games going on the internet and other stuff. so this were the distraction come in toward the student and actually learning. bug it can still improve learning if you put ya mind to what you suppose yo do .   

Why should you never send emails, texts or IM's when your upset?

you shouldn't send  emails or text or I'm when your upset because, a lot of hurtful stuff can be said, plus u are not controlling your action toward a person because the way you are so mad.

My current task is to complete this project. my project topic is cell /smart phone for learning. my 5 topic of question are , will the smart phone benefit our learning, what are the bad habits, will this distract use then actually learning, when should it be use, and when it should not be use, is it better then book knowledge.  the information i need to know , what are the history behind it .  

Do you have a cellphone? Do you agree that it can distract you from your schoolwork?

Yea i do, but i do think sometime it can distract you from your work. because u might get a text message or something and you gonna wanna check it out . that why our phone need to be put away were we can see it or it can be on silent.

How could your teachers use them during lessons? 

There are many ways teacher can use portable device in the classroom, for example to show kids what to do when they get home or how to access something from there own to do there assignment. they can use there device to present stuff to the class or do there lesson from there. so we the student can have a better understand of the work. 

Why do you think someone might want to know what you learn or do in class?

I think people would like to know what i learn or d in class, because to see if i pay attention and do what I'm suppose to do while I'm in class.

What do you think are the advantages off cloud computing? What do you like about the iCloud? What problems if any do you see with the iCloud?

There are a lot of advantages off cloud computing because it can help in many ways from your computer to your phone or even your ipad. if you wanna document something and don't wanna leave it on your phone or computer whatever , that's were icould come in. the thing that i like about icould it give you advantages to transport stuff from your devices.

Do you think it is a harmless prank to mess with another persons account? What would you do if you find a computer was left on and accounts were not logged out? What would you want someone to do if you left your computer on and accounts open?

I do think its harmless to mess with another person account because a lot of stuff can happen between then time when your account is left open. if i found a computer that was left on and someone account was not log out , i would log out of there account. because what they have on there account is not my business to know what they do or what they are talking about. i think people should mind there business , what don't concern you leave it alone. if someone was to go on my computer and realize my account was not log off . i think they should respect my privacy and log out of my account and continue to do what they wanna on my computer after they did the right thing and log out of my account. 

Tell us what you think about Steve Jobs’s legacy and what your own guiding principles are. Wihat are your core beliefs? What would you say is your personal credo? How does that credo guide you in life?

What i think about Steve Jobs legacy is that he came a long way , and mad a lot of people happy by the thing he did and what he mad. he bring a lot of cool and nice devices so many people and young children's use around the world. Steve job idea was more then brilliant, he had a idea like no other.he left this world happy and everyone in it.  the amazing thing he did is unbelievable and hes idea is just so wonderful. my own guidance principles are you have to make your way up to the top to be something.  

My core beliefs are u have to know what you want outta life to make it somewhere.look at Steve jobs start apple in his garage and now hes the biggest thing in this world. little thing like these, you will never know where you will be in life.so don't take life for granted and take it a a breezes,cause opportunity come in many way.

My personal credo is don't take life for granted, the reason why i said this because life come in may way its your responsibility what you want to do with it. this credo guild me in life a lot because as a African American, people think we cant make it in life so there for take what you know outta life and carry with you along ya way success. because no one not gonna help you in the long run you gotta know ya way.

Steve Jobs (Founder of Apple) effect the way we learn, communicate and live today. its better then anything else, we have faster ways to access internet our music that's not on our computer, basically music on the go. there are so many way to get in touch with you friends or family member thru the technology of apple.  

Do you think the HSPA test should be given on a computer or over the Internet? Would most students do better or worse? Would the results be the same? Would you prefer to take the test the traditional way or on a computer? Why?

No, I don't think the hspa test should be giving over the computer. because a lot of children will lose there focus and not concentrate on what there doing so they can be ably to pass. this give them a advantage to cheat and do other stuff they not suppose to be doing. for me i would take the hspa the traditional way , there more time to think and concentrate on what your doing.   

Do you think that the passing the HSPA should be a requirement for graduation? Do standardized test measure what you really know? Why?

I agree & disagree with making hspa for graduation a requirement because it can put a lot of pressure on student cause it don't matter how many times you take the hspa test some, people can never pass it . but also it can be to see how much you know since u been in school.

What are some of the risks in cyberspace? How can you avoid these risks? What should you do to protect yourself when using social media such as Facebook, Twitter, Blogger, etc.?

Some risk in cyberspace are website, newsgroup, online chat. there are a lot of ways you can avoid these thing, many ways are if you see something you don't like you can leave the site or stay out of any drama. protecting your self on social network is the way to go. don't post anything up  of other people that they don't like nor do you talk about anyone. its best to stay out of drama and be drama free.

Tell us your ideas about preventing bullying — and dealing with it when it does occur. Do you think laws like the one in New Jersey will help reduce instances of bullying? What do you think teachers and schools can do to improve school culture and reduce bullying? What approaches do you think can be effective? Do you see this problem getting better, worse or staying about the same in your school or community?

My idea of preventing bullying & dealing with it when it occur by notifying your parent's or someone at your local school. Letting them know that someone are harassing you on the computer. If anything and the school find out who the bully are Hopefully, the bully’s parents will discipline their child so that the activity will decrease or stop.  If more action taken place which the bullying still occur I will go to further action. But for the child safety the parent should take away the computer or Internet access, so the child could not see what’s going on.

Bullying can happen anywhere or to anyone, with law like the one in New Jersey bullying can reduce. With a lot of action we can do now to prevent thing from happening to our young children’s. If law is like the one we have in New Jersey around the world there will be no more bully that would extend to further action. Many young children would know that bullying is not right and many children can get hurt or harm them self in any kind of way. Parents should talk to there child about bullying and letting them know bullying other kids its not right.

Teachers and schools can do to improve school culture and reduce bullying, are when the students use the school computer they should monitor what the children's doing at all times. Making sure that there on the site were they should be, not making trouble with other students. Plus the school should take about it do advertisement around the school, making the kids understand that bullying is not right & serious consequence can happen to them under the state of New Jersey law. If everyone cooperates with the law and schools the bullying will not be an issue.

Why are Digital Citizenship and netiquette key to Online Safety 3.0?

Digital citizenship and netiquette are both keys to online safety , digital citizenship teach you how use the computer and make you understand the internet and how should you behavior on the computer . same ways being netiquette, be polite on the internet, no harsh words or drama & know your safety. 

You walk in to the computer classroom. You sit down at your computer. You notice that the computer was left on. Someones online accounts, photographs and classwork is open. What is the right thing to do? What would you do? Why? Should you go into the other persons accounts?

The right thing to do is to close the account or log off the computer. and re-log in your account on your computer. i would not look into people stuff , that's not nice at all. those are there privacy not for me to see or anyone else, unless they post them on the internet.

A "boy/girl" friends you through Facebook. He/she is exactly your age, likes the same things as you, likes the same music you do. After a few weeks of chatting, he/she asks you to meet him/her. What do you do?

First and foremost i would not meet anyone i don't know or never see before . if i meet someone like that over any social network and everything i do they do or like . something must be wrong with that . not everyone u talk to over computer say who they are . so basically i would deny of meeting with you if i never meet you before .

Being safe and responsible over the web is the best way to go. because there are a lot of action that can happen over time by not being responsible like Facebook, twitter, MySpace etc... people can say there are your friend and there not. trying to talk to you or perform sexual activity online , even they know you under age. 

Why do you think it is important to have good manners online?

Its important to have good manners online because someone can make someone feel bad by putting there info or stuff they don't want nobody to know on the internet. plus you the person not having manner can make other people or friend look at you different or a type of way about you. plus having good manner can avoid people getting hurt.

What do you think are two advantages to watching how to videos? Would you rather watch a video tutorial or read a text tutorial?

Two advantages of watching a video tutorial are you have a better understanding of what your doing.  plus you can get a better grade on you test or quizzes. because like me i visual thing to understand better when it in writing .

What would you do if you witnessed a situation similar to this?

If i was to witness cyber bullying, first and foremost i would  approach the person and have a little decision making them know what every they are doing its not cool. and those word can be hurtful to anyone which can lead up to serious damage , if they do know or not .

The Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights becomes law in the state of New Jersey. Did New Jersey go too far with this law, or is it appropriate and necessary action? Why or why not?

New Jersey did not go to far with the anti-bullying bill, its very appropriate and necessary for this action to take place.  because to many teenager & young children's are being harass everyday on the internet or cellular devices from there peers or anyone. not knowing how many damage a person can cause to another & there life it outrageous. a lot of teenager  can get hurt till the point where they commit suicide or even end up in a metal facility.
     

Do you think that teenagers are more likely to get into trouble on the Internet than young children? Why?

Yes!!! i do believe teenager can get into more trouble then younger childrens, for the fact Internet can be trouble period, but for teenager it can get out of hand or even worst . most likely then young children. for the fact because teenager can be on site were there are not prohibit to be or have no rite to be. simply as pornography, social network etc... not many teenager have access to computer or to the internet, but when they do they don't know how much trouble they can cause.

What do you think are the dangers of when using the Internet? 

 There are a lot of dangers cause by the internet . many of them mostly come from, your identity , personal information . also most sites can be spam that have false information which can lead to identity lost. internet can have a lot of information but can lead up to hackers , which can follow every move u make on your computer .
